When it come to politics, your values are your light unto your path. It is the very guidance and mapping that ensures we end up exactly where we planned, when we started. This is why there is little room to mistake or misplace your values. The Young Democrats of America (YDA) have recognized that and come out strong on their values. It is no surprise to me that on all the issues, YDA stands with the People, and for the People. A publication was just released which clarifies on their stance for American Values on American Issues.
It is important to remember, that we are not all of the same background, or the same beliefs, other than that of Liberty, Justice, and Happiness. Therefore we must recognize that there has to be a balance in what is best for the people but still protects the rights of all individuals. Health care and social services are key to ensuring that everyone has an ability to live a life free of discomfort and disabling conditions. Immigration policies must reflect that ever reaching goal to ensure that all human beings have the right to be free, otherwise Lady Liberty is no longer a beacon of hope, but rather a monument from the past. Of course none of our freedom is worth dying for, unless we take care of those less fortunate than ourselves and protect the stability of families. 
We support contraceptives and other measures taken to prevent as many abortions as possible, and hope to continue to improve efforts towards family planning. We will always support the equality of human beings, no matter what their relationships look like. It is not for any American to choose the lifestyle of another’s, that would be against the very freedom guaranteed by the Constitution. Lastly, our economy must be stable for all Americans, and this means that we must all pay our fair share towards Democracy.
It is not the American Dream to abandon each other, in the path of success. But rather it is the Dream of America to be a country of success, this means our values must again support the lifestyle of all Americans, and of course ensure the rights of every human being who walks this Earth. I am proud to be an American, even further I am proud to be a member of the Young Democrats of America, but most importantly I am a child of God and proud to be faithful. We are a country of values and we stand by those values for every American, forever more.
